Inspect the HAZARD LPS fuse in the IP Fuse Block.

Is the fuse open?

Using a J 39200 Digital Multimeter (DMM), Disconnect the hazard warning switch and test for a short to ground in the hazard warning switch battery positive voltage supply circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Was a short to ground found?

Using a test lamp to ground, test the battery positive voltage supply circuit at the hazard warning switch connector. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect the test lamp between the battery positive voltage supply circuit and the ground circuit at the hazard warning switch connector. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Reconnect and activate the the hazard warning switch
  2. Connect the test lamp from ground to each of the front turn signal switch signal output terminals at the hazard warning switch connector. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Repair the short to ground in the hazard warning switch battery positive voltage supply circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open or high resistance in the hazard warning switch battery positive voltage supply circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
