Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 404176  Size: SH
  1. Open the rear door.
  2. Remove the rear wheel opening flare mounting screws.
  3. Remove the rear wheel opening flare from the door.

  4. Object Number: 404172  Size: SH
  5. Remove the wheel opening flare mounting screws
  6. Remove the wheel opening flare mounting nuts.
  7. Remove the wheel opening flare from the wheel opening panel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 404172  Size: SH
  1. Install the flare to the wheel opening panel.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the wheel opening flare mounting nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  5. Install the screws that retain the flare to the wheel opening panel.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  7. Install the rear wheel opening flare to the rear door.
  8. Install the rear wheel opening flare mounting screws.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the rear wheel opening flare screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  10. Close the rear door.
