Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear bumper step pads. Refer to
Rear Bumper Step Pad Replacement
.
- Remove the license plate lamps. Refer to
Rear License Lamp Replacement
in Lighting
Systems.
- Remove the bolts that retain the bumper to the bracket from the bottom
of the bumper.
- Remove the nuts and the bolt plates that retain the
bracket to the bumper.
- Remove the bumper impact bar from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the bumper impact bar to the
vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts
and the bolt plates that retain the bumper to the bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the rear bumper to bracket nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Install the bolts that retain the bumper to the bracket in the
bottom of the bumper.
Tighten
Tighten the rear bumper to bracket bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Install the license plate lamps. Refer to
Rear License Lamp Replacement
in Lighting
Systems.
- Install the rear bumper step pads. Refer to
Rear Bumper Step Pad Replacement
