Removal Procedure
- Remove the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Remove the left sound insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Remove the nut retaining the park brake cable to the lever assembly.
- Disconnect the park brake cable from the park brake lever.
- Pull back the carpet in order to remove the park brake cable from the retainer on the heater box assembly.
- Remove the park brake cable and the grommet from the hole on the floor of the vehicle.
- Remove the park brake cable from the retainer located underneath the vehicle.
- Unhook the front park brake cable from the rear park brake cable.
- Remove the park brake cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front park brake cable to the vehicle.
- Hook the front park brake cable to the rear park brake cable.
- Install the park brake cable to the retainer located underneath the vehicle.
- Install the park brake cable and the grommet to the hole on the floor of the vehicle.
- Push the carpet forward to the original position.
- Connect the park brake cable to the park brake lever.
- Tighten the nut retaining the park brake cable to the park brake lever. Ensure that no free movement exists between the cable and the lever.
- Install the left sound insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Install the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Adjust the park brake cable. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
