A/C DELIVERS AIR TO DEFROST OUTLETS ONLY

VEHICLES AFFECTED; 1982-84 "F" Models

Some 1982-84 'F' Models may exhibit the condition that air will blow only from the defroster outlets. This condition may be caused by a loss of vacuum to the A/C control or the A/C mode doors. Specifically this condition may be caused by a pinched vacuum harness input (violet) line near the A/C control. To repair this condition, remove the kink from the violet line of the vacuum harness and re-route to prevent recurrence.

If this procedure does not repair this condition, determine other causes for loss of vacuum according to Service Manual.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
