FRENCH LABEL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (PASS. CARS)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: All 1985 Passenger Cars

General-All Passenger Cars 1985

Labels are pressure sensitive, therefore, surfaces must be clean, dry, warm, and free of contaminants, before labels are affixed. Labels must be presssed firmly over their entire surface.

Locate labels next to corrosponding English labels, unless otherwise noted. Both labels must be readable.

Engine

1. Fan Caution Label

- If vehicle in equipped with an English label, place label 52350076 over it. Otherwise, place label 52350076 adjacent to the English embossed message on fan shroud.

2. Auxiliary Fan Caution Label

- If 'A,X,J,N, or P' car, place label 744759 over English label on fan shroud.

- If 'G or J' car, with a turbo-charged engine, place label 52353415 over English label on fan shroud.

3. Battery Labels

- Place label 52350963 over original 1abel, such that replacement code in bottom RH corner is visible.

- Place label 52354601, 52354602, 52354603, or 52354604, (Whichever is appropriate), over original charge indicator level.

4. Coolant Service notice Label ('P' Car Only)

- Place label 52353414 adjacent to English labels located on the top of the radiator shroud and inside surface of the rear deck lid.

5. Air Conditioner Compressor/Evaporator Labels

- Place label 744775C over the words 'Refrigerant oil, model No.', such that LH edge of overlay is even with LH edge of silver portion of compressor label.

- Place label 744775A adjacent to Engligh label on compressor.

- Place label 744775B adjacent to English label on evaporator.

- Place label 744775D adjacent to English label on side of accumulator bottle.

6. Air Cleaner Label

- Place label 744678 over original label so that code in top LH corner is not covered.

7. Oil Filter Label

- Place label 744750 or 746827 (whichever is appropriate) on oil filter canister adjacent to English label.

8. Hood Prop Rod Label

- Place label 52351737 over English label.

9. Engine Oil Fill Cap Label

- Place label 52352671 over English label located on the oil fill cap.

10. Accessory belt Routing Label

- Place label 52352960 over the title block section of the English label.

11. Auxiliary fan Caution Label (Also shows Belt Routing) (Corvette Only)

- Place label 52354614 over English label on fan shroud.

12. Ignition Switch Notice Label (Cadillac Only)

- Place label 52352902 over English label which is located on top of the battery.

13. Vehicle Fluids Identification Label (Cadillac 'C' Only)

- Place label 52353411 beside the English label on top of the air cleaner.

14. A/C Refrigerant Charging Procedure Label (Cadillac 'C' Car Only)

- Place label 52353413 over the original English label on top of the radiator support.

15. Fuel Filler Drain Button

- Place label 52354598 or 52354599, over original English label.

Passenger Compartment

1. Turbo Engine Oil Recommendations Label

- Place label 746169 or 52353711 (whichever is appropriate) over English label on LH sunvisor.

2. Owner's Manual Reference Label (All Vehicles)

- Place label 745764 on trailing edge of door adjacent to tire and certification labels.

3. Superlift Shock Label (If Vehicle So Equipped)

- Place label 744659 on flat area of trailing edge of driver's door in close proximity of English label.

4. Manual Transmission Shift Indicator Light Label

- Place label 52353708 adjacent to English label on LH sunvisor.

5. Twilight Sentinel Label And Tag (If Vehicle So Equipped)

- Place label 744673 on Amp Unit (Under Dash, Driver's Side) over existing label, such that model No. shows.

- Place tag 744645 or 52354600 on shaft of light switch adjacent to English tag.

6. Fuse block identification Labels ('C' Cars Only)

- Remove the fuse block cover and install label 52353407 (Olds), 52353408 (Buick),, or 52353409 (Cadillac),, over the fuse identification chart on the inside surface of the fuse block cover.

7. Headlight Flash To Pass Signal Switch Tag (pontiac 'A' with Y88 Package only)

- Place tag 52352651 on shaft of signal switch adjacent to English tag.

8. Third Seat Release Information Label (Olds 'B' Wagon)

- Place label 744742 beside established label near the release lever on RH side.

9. Shock Absorber Caution Label (Corvette Only)

* This label is outside the passenger compartment.

- If vehicle is equipped with option Z51, raise vehicle on a hoist and install labels 52353504 adjacent to the original labels, English labels on the shafts of each shock absorber.

10. Spare Wheel Caution Label (Corvette Only)

- Place label 52351291 on the rim of the wheel adjacent to the English label.

11. Jack Instruction Label (Corvette Only)

- Place labels 52354636 and 52354637 on the underside of stowage compartment lid adjacent to English label.

12. Jack Assembly Label (Corvette Only)

- Place label 52354515 on side of jack opposite to English label.

13. Roof Panel Notice Label (Corvette Only)

- Place label 52350964 on left and right side roof panels over English labels.

14. Wire Wheel Cover Key Label (Cadillac Only)

- Find key in glove box, wrap label 744736 around key stem, such that the lock/unlock directions correspond to English label.

15. Clutch Type Torque Converter Label (Cadillac Only)

- Place label 52350584 adjacent to English label on LH side quarter window (2 door), or LH RR door window (4 door).

16. Sunvisor sleeve (Buick Riviera 'Convertible' Only)

- Tear off tabs on ends of envelope 52354197 and place over RH sunvisor.

17. Wheel Stowage Instruction (Corvette Only)

- Place label 52354638 on underside of stowage compartment lid adjacent to English label.

18. Unlatch Warning Vista Vent Label (T-Car)

- Place label 52354566 adjacent to English label.

19. Vent Procedure Vista Vent Label (T-Car)

- Place label 52354567 similarly to English label but on opposite side of the RR latch.

20. W/S Inner Shield Windshield Care (K-Car)

- Place adjacent to English Label.

21. Start Procedure Labels (Cars With Chevrolet Engines)

Place Label 52354569 adjacent to 14086559 52354570 adjacent to 14086560 52354571 adjacent to 14086561 52354572 adjacent to 14086562

22. Parking Brake Lever Operating Inst. (Sleeve) ('P' Car Only)

- Place sleeve 52353969 over S/Shade opposite to one with English sleeve.

Trunk

1. Jack Instruction Labels

- If 'B,C,D,G, or P'car coupe or sedan, place appropriate label 52350162, 52350174, 52353405, or 52353418 on trunk lid.

- If 'B' Wagon or 'A,X,J,N, or T' car, place appropriate label 52350967, 744773, 52350163, 52350176, 52352419, or 52354511, on Spare Tire Cover.

- If 'F' car, fit label 52354521 on inside of fender panel.

- If 'K' car, fit label 746160 over original English label.

- If 'A' Station Wagon, remove the RH quarter panel trim cover and place label 52353401 beside English label.

- If 'E' car, place label 746164 adjacent to English label on trunk lid.

- If 'Y' car, place labels 52354636, 52354637, and 52354638 (wheel stowage) adjacent to English labels.

- If 'E' Convertible (Buick Riviera), place label 52352599 over the wheel and jack stowage portion of jack label 746164.

2. Jack Assembly Labels

- If side mounted jack, place a,ppropriate label 746123, 52354515, 52354509, 52351306, 52351308, 52353402, 52353404, or 52353406, on side opposite to corresponding English label.

- If bumper jack, place label 746124 over English label on jack base.

3. Cargo Cover Label ('X' Car Hatchback Only)

- Place label 744774 adjacent to English label on cargo cover.

4. Wire Wheel Cover Lock Removal Label (If Vehicle So Equipped)

- Place label 746197 or 52353419 adjacent to English label on trunk lid.

5. Roof Panel Stowage Instruction Label ('F' Car Only)

- Place label 52354086 adjacent to Englizh label on the roof panel stowage bag.

6. Space Saver Spare Tire ('F' Car only)

- Remove tire and inflation canister.

- Place label 52350966 on rim next to original label.

- Place label 746415 over original label on canister so that information shows through the 3 windows. To do this, line up top of label with top of original label and right hand side of label flush with original label.

7. Tail Lamp Notice Label (Buick 'G' Only)

- Place label 744676 adjacent to original label in trunk on rear bumper panel.

8. Compact Spare Caution Label

- Place label 52353513 on rim next to Enlish label.

9. Electric Lock Fuel Cap Label (If Vehicle So Equipped)

- Place label 52352880 on fuel cap opposite to English label.

10. Fuel Filler Door Manual Release Label ('C' Cars Only)

- Place label 52353416 beside the English label on the inner surface of the rear trunk lid flange.

11. Front Compartment Support Release Label ('P' Car Only)

- Place label 52353439 below the English label on the front compartment lid support rod.

12. Tailgate Transfer Decal ('A' Station Wagons Only)

- Place decal 52353624 below the English decal which is located just above the tailgate door lock (Note: French decal should be positioned below the lock cylinder).

13. Remote Locking Fuel Door Label (Cadillac Only)

- Place label 52351460 on bumper filler panel adjacent to English label.

14. Full Size Flat Aluminum Wheel Stowage (A-Car)

- Place label 52354613 adjacent to English label.

15. Jack Instruction Location Label

- If 'C' car, place label 52353417 on compartment lid adjacent to English label.

- If 'N' car, place label 52354510 over existing English label.

16. Remove and discard all extraneous English advertising.
