INTERFERENCE OF AIR CONDITIONING TEMPERATURE DOOR BELL CRANK AND THE PLASTIC COVER
VEHICLES INSPECTED: 1985 AND 86 'F' CAR WITH C-60 ------------------
Comments of poor air conditioning performance (lack of cooling) on the above vehicles is caused by an interference condition of the plastic covers shown in Illustration, and the temperature door bell crank.
This condition can be corrected by removing and discarding the plastic cover, P/N 14036257.
The plastic cover was released in error on C-60 air conditioned Vehicles. The plastic cover is only used on C-41 heater only vehicles. Problem was corrected on production vehicles in mid-January, 1986.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
