SOME OWNERS MAY EXPERIENCE A DRIVEABILITY CONCERN ADDRESSED BY REPROGRAMMING THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) WITH A NEW "FLASH" EE PROM PROGRAM AND/OR REPLACEMENT OF THE THROTTLE BODY.
THE FOLLOWING DRIVEABILITY CONCERNS CAN BE CORRECTED WITH A NEW "FLASH" EE PROM PROGRAM AND/OR REPLACEMENT OF THE THROTTLE BODY.

COLD ENGINE, THROTTLE BUMP FELT WHEN X X THROTTLE IS ADVANCED SLOWLY FROM CLOSED TO OPEN OVER APPROXIMATELY A ONE SECOND PERIOD.
ELIMINATES DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES X (DTCS) 45 AND 65 FROM BEING SET WHEN AGGRESSIVE DRIVING IS FOLLOWED BY A STEADY HIGHWAY CRUISE SPEED.
ELIMINATES COASTDOWN BUMP. X
COLD ENGINE DRIVEABILITY DURING THE X FIRST MINUTE OF OPERATION ON A COLD ENGINE START.
INTERMITTENT INCREASE IN THE ENGINE X IDLE RPM FOLLOWING A THROTTLE CLOSURE FROM GREATER THAN 10 MPH, AT CLOSED THROTTLE TP SENSOR TOGGLES BETWEEN 0 TO 1 PERCENT.*
INTERMITTENT INCREASE IN THE ENGINE X IDLE RPM CAUSED BY A CHANGE IN THE TP SENSOR READING FROM "KEY ON/ENGINE OFF" TO "KEY ON/ENGINE RUNNING."*
*NOTE: IF THE TP SENSOR SHOWS A THROTTLE ANGLE PERCENTAGE OF TWO (2) PERCENT OR GREATER, IT IS NECESSARY TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. THE THROTTLE BODY PART NUMBER FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EQUIPPED VEHICLE IS 17093126. A THROTTLE BODY GASKET, PART NUMBER 10146870, SHOULD ALSO BE USED.
THE FLASH CALIBRATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE NOVEMBER 1993 STG CD RELEASE. THE THROTTLE BODY AND GASKET ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FROM GMSPO.
