The 1993 F-car is the first GM application of a new type of radio antenna connector, called the mini-barbless connector. This connector should be used only with a matching mini-barbless antenna connector. If the antenna and radio connectors do not match, radio damage may occur.
If a non-original equipment radio or antenna is used in this vehicle, or if the radio from this vehicle isused in any other vehicle, it is important to use the correct adapter cable, as shown in the illustration. Four adapter cables are available to match the condition that you may find when changing radios or antennas.
Part numbers of the adapters are:

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
