REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
J38606 VALVE SPRING COMPRESSOR J22794 SPARK PLUG PORT ADAPTER J41512 VALVE GUIDE OIL SEAL INSTALLATION TOOL
1. ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY. REFER TO SECTION 6A8 IN THE APPLICABLE SERVICE MANUAL. 2. ROTATE ENGINE SO THAT PISTON IN CYLINDER BEING SERVICED IS AT TDC BEFORE REMOVING VALVE KEYS. THIS WILL ELIMINATE THE POSSIBILITY OF THE VALVE ACCIDENTALLY FALLING INSIDE THE CYLINDER. 3. INSTALL J22794 TO SPARK PLUG PORT AND APPLY COMPRESSED AIR TO HOLD THE VALVE CLOSED. 4. COMPRESS VALVE SPRING USING J38606. 5. VALVE KEYS. 6. VALVE CAP AND SPRING. 7. VALVE STEM OIL SEAL BY PRYING UP ON BOTTOM OF SEAL USING A SUITABLE TOOL.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. PLACE OIL SEAL OVER VALVE STEM JUST SO SEAL BEGINS TO CONTACT THE VALVE GUIDE.
2. PUSH THE VALVE STEM SEAL OVER THE VALVE GUIDE USING J41512. 3. VALVE SPRING AND CAP USING J38606. 4. VALVE KEYS. 5. REMOVE COMPRESSED AIR AND J22794. 6. ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY. REFER TO SECTION 6A8 IN THE APPLICABLE SERVICE MANUAL.

1. CYLINDER HEAD. REFER TO SECTION 6A8B IN THE APPLICABLE SERVICE MANUAL. 2. COMPRESS VALVE SPRING USING J38606. 3. VALVE KEYS. 4. VALVE CAP AND SPRING. 5. VALVE STEM OIL SEAL BY PRYING UP ON BOTTOM OF SEAL USING A SUITABLE TOOL.
