Removal Procedure
Notice: When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack
under the oil pan, any sheet metal, or the crankshaft pulley. Due to the small
clearance between the oil pan and the oil pump screen, jacking against the
oil pan may cause the pan to be bent against the pump screen. This will result
in a damaged oil pickup unit.
- Inspect the engine mounts for the following conditions:
• | Damaged rubber portions |
• | Heat check cracks covering the rubber surface |
• | The rubber cushion separated from the mount plate |
• | A split through the center of the rubber cushion |
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to SECTION 0A.
- Remove the engine mount through-bolts and the nuts.
- Raise the engine with a jacking fixture.
- Remove the engine mount bolts and mounts
- Remove the engine bracket bolts. and brackets.
Installation Procedure
- Install the engine brackets and bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the engine mount and bracket bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft)
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Lower the engine.
- Install the engine mount through-bolts and nuts.
