Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle suitably. Refer to SECTION 0A.
  2. Drain the engine oil.

  3. Object Number: 50731  Size: SH
  4. Remove the oil filter.

  5. Object Number: 36655  Size: SH
  6. Remove the oil filter adapter bolts.
  7. Remove the oil filter adapter.
  8. Remove the oil filter adapter gasket.
  9. Remove the oil filter pressure relief valve and spring.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 36655  Size: SH
  1. Install the oil pressure relief valve and spring.
  2. Install the oil filter adapter gasket.
  3. Install the oil filter adapter.
  4. Install the oil filter adapter bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the adapter bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the oil filter.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Refill the engine oil. Refer to SECTION 0B.
