Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the EGR valve outlet pipe.
  2. Remove the EGR valve. Refer to EGR Valve Replacement.
  3. Remove the EGR valve gasket.

  4. Object Number: 36618  Size: SH
  5. Remove the EGR valve adapter nuts.
  6. Remove the EGR valve adapter bolt.
  7. Remove the EGR valve adapter.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 36618  Size: SH
  1. Install the EGR valve adapter.
  2. Install the EGR valve bolt.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the EGR valve nuts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  6. Install the EGR valve gasket.
  7. Install the EGR valve. Refer to EGR Valve Replacement.
  8. Install the EGR valve outlet pipe.
  9. Inspect the EGR valve adapter tube for leaks. If leaks exist, replace the EGR valve adapter.
