Master Cylinder, Hydraulic Tube, and Actuator Cylinder Assembly 6-Speed

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Remove the instrument knee bolster. Refer to section 8C.

  4. Remove the clutch master cylinder pushrod from the clutch pedal.

  5. Object Number: 33396  Size: SH
  6. Remove the clutch master cylinder nuts from the dash panel.
  7. Remove the clutch master cylinder U-bolt from the dash panel.

  8. Object Number: 33512  Size: SH
  9. Remove the clutch master cylinder.

  10. Object Number: 33513  Size: SH
  11. Remove the clutch master cylinder reservoir retainer.
  12. Remove the clutch master cylinder reservoir from the left-hand hood strut bracket.
  13. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 0A.

  15. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder nuts.

  17. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder from the clutch housing.

  19. Remove the clutch master and actuator cylinder from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 33507  Size: SH
  1. Install the clutch actuator cylinder.

  2. Object Number: 33506  Size: SH
  3. Install the clutch actuator cylinder nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Install the clutch master cylinder to the dash panel.

  9. Install the clutch master cylinder U-bolt to the dash panel.
  10. Install the clutch master cylinder nuts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch master cylinder nuts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  12. Install the clutch master cylinder reservoir to the left-hand hood strut bracket.
  13. Install the clutch master cylinder reservoir retainer.

  14. Object Number: 33511  Size: SH
  15. Install the clutch master cylinder pushrod to the clutch pedal.
  16. Install the instrument panel driver knee bolster. Refer to Section 8C.
  17. Connect the negative battery cable.
