Removal Procedure
Important: Care must be taken when handling the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT)
sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel
injection system.
- Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Section 6B.
- Remove the air inlet duct (1).
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the ECT sensor.
- Remove the ECT sensor (2) from the engine coolant pump (1).
Installation procedure
Important:: Care must be taken when handling the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT)
sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel
injection system.
- Coat the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor threads with sealer
P/N 1052080 or equivalent.
- Install the ECT sensor (2) into the engine coolant pump (1).
Tighten
Tighten the ECT sensor to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).
- Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
- Install the air inlet duct (1).
- Refill the engine coolant. Refer to Section 6B.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
- Recheck the engine coolant level.
