Removal Procedure

    Important: Care must be taken when handling the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Section 6B.

  2. Object Number: 21180  Size: SH
  3. Remove the air inlet duct (1).
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ECT sensor.

  5. Object Number: 13642  Size: SH
  6. Remove the ECT sensor (2) from the engine coolant pump (1).

Installation procedure

    Important:: Care must be taken when handling the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.

  1. Coat the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor threads with sealer P/N 1052080 or equivalent.

  2. Object Number: 13642  Size: SH
  3. Install the ECT sensor (2) into the engine coolant pump (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the ECT sensor to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  5. Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector.

  6. Object Number: 21180  Size: SH
  7. Install the air inlet duct (1).
  8. Refill the engine coolant. Refer to Section 6B.
  9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  10. Recheck the engine coolant level.
