Removal Procedure
- Remove the front floor console trim plate assembly. Refer to Front
Floor Console Transmission Shift Opening Trim Plate in Instrument Panel, Gauges,
and Console.
- Remove the control lever knob.
- Remove the floor console shift opening boot.
- Remove two bolts and the control lever
handle.
- Remove the boot attaching screws and the
control lever boot.
Installation Procedure
- Install the control lever boot and the
boot attaching screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.7 N·m (15 lb in).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the control lever handle and the
two attaching bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the floor console shift opening boot.
- Install the front floor console trim plate assembly. Refer to
Front Floor Console Transmission Shift Opening Trim Plate in Instrument Panel,
Gauges, and Console.
- Install the control lever knob.
