  1. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C3.
  2. Attach a fused jumper between the BCM connector C3 terminal C12 and the ground.

Does the SECURITY indicator illuminate?

  1. Test for a poor connection at the BCM connector C3 terminal C12.
  2. If the connection is OK, replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Remove the instrument cluster.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the instrument cluster connector terminal A13 and terminal A3.
  3. Connect a fused jumper between BCM connector C3 terminal C12 and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 4

  1. Test for a poor connection at the instrument cluster connector terminal A3 and terminal A13.
  2. If the connections are OK, replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Test for an open in circuit 728 between the instrument cluster connector terminal A3 and the BCM connector C3 terminal C12.
  2. If the connection is OK, repair the open in circuit 640 between S211 and the instrument cluster connector terminal A10.
