Condition
Some customers may comment about a squealing type noise that is coming from the front brakes during a light to moderate brake apply.
Cause
The squealing noise may be the result of a SLIP/STICK condition between the front brake pads and rotors that could cause a high frequency vibration.
Correction
On vehicles built prior to the VIN breakpoint indicated, this condition can be minimized by replacing the existing front brake pads with new pads, P/N 18026298, that have a new lining material. Refer to the Disc Brakes sub-section in the appropriate Service Manual.
Important: Guidelines provided in Corporate Bulletin Number 23-50-05B must be followed to insure proper cleaning , lubricating and assembling of brake and related components.
