module to bracket bolts.
- Remove the cruise control module from the bracket.
Installation Procedure
- Place the cruise control
module onto the bracket.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the cruise control
module bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the cruise control module bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Inspect the cable end
to insure that the O-ring is in place.
- Pull the throttle body end of the cable until cable is taut, continue
to hold while performing the following:
4.1. | Hook the cable bead (1) to the module ribbon (3). |
4.2. | Rotate the cable end if necessary, to straighten the ribbon. |
4.3. | Push the cable fitting end over the ribbon. |
4.4. | Snap the cable end into the module. |
4.5. | Ensure that the conduit tangs are engaged. |

- Align the cruise control module cover over the cable and bracket.
- Snap the cover closed
over the flanges on the bracket.
- Install the cruise control
module and bracket to the left side engine compartment outer rail.
- Install the cruise control module bracket bolts.
Tighten
• | Tighten the cruise control module bracket bolts to the rail to
10 N·m (89 lb in). |
• | Tighten the cruise control module bracket bolt to 2 N·m
(18 lb in). |
