- Thread the turn signal
and multifunction switch assembly connector through the lock housing cover
and sleeve assembly, if the switch is hanging.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly and secure
using 3 pan head 6 lobed socket screws (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).
- Lubricate the signal switch arm assembly (3) with lithium
grease.
- Install the signal switch arm assembly (3) onto the turn
signal and multifunction switch assembly.

washer head screw (2).
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
- Install the terminal connector
to the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector.
Caution: Improper routing of the wire harness assembly may damage the inflatable
restraint steering wheel module coil. This may result in a malfunction of
the coil, which may cause personal injury.
Important: Pull carefully on all the wires to remove any wire kinks that may be
inside the steering column assembly.
- Pull the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector towards
the base of the column.
