Removal Procedure
  1. Open and support the hood.

    2. Object Number: 318920 Size: SH
  2. Remove the hood hinge bolt (4).
  3. Remove the hood hinge shim (3).

    4. Object Number: 318914 Size: SH
  4. Remove the hood hinge screws (3) from the hood.
  5. Remove the hinge bracket nuts (1) from the hood.

    6. Object Number: 318920 Size: SH
  6. Remove the hood hinge nuts (5) from the lower attachment of the hood hinge (6).
  7. Remove the hood hinge (6).
  8. Remove the wheelhouse panel liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
  9. With a flat-bladed tool, remove the retainers (1) from the plate studs.
  10. Remove the hood hinge mount plate (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Hold the hood plate (2) in position and press the retainers (1) over the plate studs.
  2. Install the wheelhouse panel liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
  3. Install the hood hinge (6).

    4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the hood hinge nuts (5) to the lower attachment of the hood hinge (6).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the hood hinge nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the hood hinge bolts to the hood (2).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the hood hinge bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  6. Install the hinge bracket nuts to the hood (2).

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge bracket nuts (1) to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the shim (3) to the lower attachment of the hood hinge (6).
  8. Install the hood hinge bolt (4) to the lower attachment of the hood hinge (6).

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the hood hinge bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Remove the hood support from the hood (2).
  10. Inspect the hood (2) for alignment. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
