Radio Speaker Amplifier Replacement Coupe
Removal Procedure
- Remove the quarter inner
rear trim finish panel. Refer to
Cargo Area Side Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the spare tire and the jack.
- Remove the amplifier bolts.
- Squeeze the pin ends together.
- Push the retaining pin through the hole in the quarter inner rear
panel.
- Lift the amplifier up in order to disengage the clip from the
wheelhouse flange.
- Disconnect the amplifier electrical connector.
- Remove the amplifier.
Installation Procedure
- Install the amplifier.
- Connect the amplifier electrical connector.
- Align the pin on the amplifier to the hole in the quarter inner
rear panel.
- Snap the pin into the hole.
- Place the clip over the rear wheelhouse flange.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the amplifier
bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 4 N·m (5 lb in).
- Install the spare tire and the jack.
- Install the quarter inner rear trim finish panel. Refer to
Cargo Area Side Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior
Trim.
Radio Speaker Amplifier Replacement Convertible
Removal Procedure
- Remove the right side
compartment trim.
- Drill out the rivet from the bracket.
- Remove the amplifier bolt.
- Lift the amplifier up in order to disengage the clips from the
wheelhouse flange.
- Disconnect the amplifier electrical connector.
- Remove the amplifier from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the amplifier
to the vehicle.
- Connect the amplifier electrical connector.
- Place tabs on the amplifier over the rear wheelhouse flange.
- Position the amplifier bracket leg onto the inboard side of the
support panel frame.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.

- Install the amplifier
bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Install the rivet through the hole in the amplifier bracket and
through the support.
- Install the right side compartment trim.
