BEGINNING EARLY JANUARY, 1983, ALL THM 700-R4 TRANSMISSIONS, EXCEPT THOSE USED IN 'D' TRUCKS, WERE BUILT WITH A REVISED MANUAL DETENT SPRING ASSEMBLY. THIS REVISION WILL REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF EFFORT REQUIRED TO OPERATE THE TRANSMISSION GEAR RANGE SELECTOR. TO CORRECT A CUSTOMER COMMENT OF EXCESSIVE RANGE SELECTOR SHIFT EFFORT ON A THM 700-R4 TRANSMISSION BUILT PRIOR TO JANUARY, 1983, REPLACE THE MANUAL DETENT SPRING ASSEMBLY.
