INCREASED COOLING & FLOW NEW SERVICE THERMOSTAT P/N

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1989-90 CHEVROLET B-CAR W/5.7L TBI

CONDTION:

Some 1989 and 1990 B-cars with 5.7L V8 engines may run hot at low RPM's during an extended idle or at high speed operation.

CAUSE:

Thermostat opening and expansion rates may not provide high coolant flow during extended idle or high speed operation.

CORRECTION:

A new service-only thermostat is available that has improved opening and flow characteristics for increased engine cooling. The new part number is #10108666 and it is a 91.1 DEG C (195 DEG F) thermostat.
