OIL IN THE AIR CLEANER (NEW PCV VALVE RELEASED)

Model and Year: 1991 CAPRICE WITH TBI AND 5.0L (VIN CODE E) ENGINE

Condition: Some owners of 1991 B-cars with the 5.0L V8 TBI engine, built before VIN breakpoint MW142453, may comment about oil in the air cleaner housing.

Cause: Oil vapor from the clean air feed to the right hand rocker cover.

Correction: A new PCV valve has been released for this application. The part number is 25098542 and it is a CV-914C valve. Air filter replacement may be necessary if excess oil is found saturating the filter.

Part is currently available from GMSPO.
