INADEQUATE HEAT/AIR FLOW DISTRIBUTION-REVISED AIR DUCT

Subject: INADEQUATE HEAT/AIR FLOW DISTRIBUTION TO DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR

Model and Year: 1991 CAPRICE

Condition: Some 1991 B-Car vehicles may experience inadequate driver's side heat.

Cause: Inadequate heat and air flow distribution to the drivers side from the heater floor outlet.

Correction: Install revised heater floor outlet.

Procedure, Parts and Information:

Install a revised heater floor outlet, P/N 101 00996. The revised outlet may be identified from the old outlet by the addition of a rectangular opening and the removal of an extension tab on the left hand side of the outlet, as shown in Figure 1.

Parts are currently available from GMSPO.

Vehicles prior to the following breakpoints are affected.
