BRAKE LINING LIFE-POLICE OPT. REMOVE SIDE AIR DEFLECTORS

SUBJECT: BRAKE LINING LIFE (REMOVE SIDE AIR DEFLECTORS AND REPLACE REAR WHEEL CYLINDERS)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1991 "B" CAR (POLICE OPTION 9C1)

CONDITION:

--------- Some operators of 1991 Caprice Police cars may comment on front brake pad life.

CORRECTION:

----------- Remove and discard both RH and LH side air deflectors for better air flow and front brake cooling. Refer to Figure 1.

Also, a larger wheel cylinder has been released for the rear brakes. This will give more brake pressure in the rear, which should result in increased front pad life. Replace both wheel cylinders with new cylinders, P/N #18004793 following applicable Service Manual procedure.

For vehicles repaired under warranty use: Labour Time : 1.3 hours
