SUBJECT: SOUND QUALITY OF BOSE RADIO (RPO UQ4) - (REPLACE AMPLIFIERS)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1991 CHEVROLET ONLY B-CAR

CONDITION:

---------- The BOSE radio system may not have sufficient sound quality on the 1991 'B' model with BOSE radio (RPO UQ4). The equalization may be inadequate and the bass response may be limited.

CAUSE:

------ The original amplifier p/n #16149121 had limited bass response and equalization. A new amplifier assembly design was used after VIN MW145367.

CORRECTION:

----------- Replace the amplifier assembly, located in the package shelf near the speakers, with p/n #16155131. Follow the directions in the Service Manual.
