POLICE BAND RADIO INTERFERENCE (CONTACT 'TAN' FOR DIAGNOSIS)

Subject: POLICE BAND RADIO INTERFERENCE

Model and Year: 1991 CAPRICE WITH POLICE OPTION

Condition:

---------- Interference on Police Band radios, when used in 1991 B cars with Police Option (9Cl or 1 A2). The interference may be static, loss of range, inability to squelch properly, etc., and is generally limited to one specific channel or frequency. This condition is most likely to occur in the low band (30-50 MHz), but may also occur in the high band (1 40-170 MHz).

Cause:

------- Various components on the car may cause interference on the police band radios.

Correction:

----------- Contact the Technical Assistance Network (TAN) for help with this condition. You must have the car available to work on and be able to reproduce the interference condition when you make the call.
