REDUCED FRT. VEHICLE HEIGHT (REPLACE FRT. COIL SPRINGS)

SUBJECT: REDUCED FRONT VEHICLE TRIM HEIGHT (REPLACE FRONT COIL SPRINGS)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1991-92 CHEVROLET CAPRICE WITH OPTION 9C1

Condition:

--------- Some operators of 1991-92 B-car Police Cars (RPO 9C1) may experience a reduced front trim height condition.

Cause:

----- Installation of additional equipment on the front of the vehicle, such as buddy bars/push bars, may increase vehicle mass to a point where a reduction in vehicle front trim height occurs.

Correction:

---------- On vehicles that have been identified as not meeting front trim height specifications as shown in the applicable Service Manual Section 3 (Steering, Suspension, Tires and Wheel Diagnosis), replace existing front coil springs with new springs, P/N 22076514. Service procedure for removal and installation as indicated in applicable Service Manual Section 3C (Front Suspension) should be followed to ensure proper installation.

For vehicles repaired under warranty use:
