Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 21302  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
  3. Remove the fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Rail Assembly.

  4. Object Number: 12764  Size: SH
  5. Remove the fuel tube bracket attaching screw and the fuel tube bracket.

  6. Object Number: 13652  Size: SH
  7. Remove the pressure regulator attaching screw (2) and the pressure regulator (1).
  8. Remove the fuel outlet tube retainer clip (4).
  9. Remove the fuel outlet tube (5) from the pressure regulator (1).
  10. Remove the pressure regulator inlet O-ring (9). Discard the pressure regulator inlet O-ring.
  11. Remove the fuel outlet tube O-ring (3). Discard the fuel outlet tube O-ring.
  12. Inspect the filter screen (8) for contamination. Remove the filter screen with a small pick and discard the filter screen if it is dirty.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 13652  Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the new pressure regulator inlet O-ring (9) with clean engine oil.
  2. Install the pressure regulator inlet O-ring (9) on the pressure regulator (1).
  3. Lubricate the new fuel outlet tube O-ring (3) with clean engine oil.
  4. Install the fuel outlet tube O-ring (4) on the fuel outlet tube (5).
  5. Install the fuel outlet tube (5) into the pressure regulator (1).
  6. Install the fuel outlet tube retainer clip (4).
  7. Push the pressure regulator (1) into the fuel rail.
  8. Apply Loctite 262 to the pressure regulator attaching screw (6) if necessary.
  9. Install the pressure regulator attaching screw (2).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the pressure regulator attaching screw to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Install the fuel tube bracket and the attaching screw.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel tube bracket attaching screw to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  13. Install the fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Rail Assembly.
  14. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
  16. Inspect for leaks.
  17. • Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds.
    • Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10 seconds.
    • Turn the ignition switch ON.
    • Check for fuel leaks.
