Removal Procedure
- Remove the vacuum line
from the EGR Valve (1).
- Remove the EGR Valve retaining nuts from the intake manifold (3).
- Remove the EGR valve (1).
Notice: Clean the EGR valve passages in the inlet manifold if you notice excessive
build up of deposits. Ensure that all loose particles are completely removed
in order to prevent them from clogging the EGR valve or from being ingested
into the engine.
Use the following cleaning procedure:
• | Buff the exhaust deposits from the mounting surface and around
the valve using a wire wheel. |
• | Look for exhaust deposits in the valve outlet. Remove deposit
buildup with a screwdriver. |
• | Clean the mounting surfaces of the intake manifold and valve assembly. |
Installation Procedure
- Install the EGR Valve
(1) on the intake manifold (3) using a new gasket (2).
Tighten
Tighten the EGR Valve Bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
- Connect the vacuum hose to the EGR Valve (1).
