Exhaust Pipe Front Heat Shield Fuel Tank

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Lifting and Jacking in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 72997  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolts from the fuel tank front shields and brackets.
  4. Remove the fuel tank front shields, with brackets, from the underbody and the heat shields.
  5. Remove the bolts.
  6. Remove the exhaust pipe heat shields from the underbody.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 72997  Size: SH
  1. Position the exhaust pipe heat shields to the underbody.
  2. Install the bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the fuel tank front heat shields and the bracket to the exhaust pipe heat shields and to the underbody.
  5. Install the bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
