Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 97098  Size: SH
  1. Remove the indicator.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.

  3. Object Number: 97094  Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolt retaining the filler tube to the cylinder head.
  5. Loosen the filler tube from the transmission.
  6. Place the drain pan under the transmission.

  7. Object Number: 97095  Size: SH
  8. Remove the filler tube from the transmission.
  9. Remove the transmission filler tube seal from the transmission.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97095  Size: SH
  1. Install the transmission filler tube seal into the transmission case hole.
  2. Install the filler tube to the transmission.

  3. Object Number: 97094  Size: SH
  4. Install the bolt to the cylinder head.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Object Number: 97098  Size: SH
  8. Install the indicator.
  9. Adjust the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
