Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System.
  2. Remove the shifter handle and retainer.
  3. Remove the floor console. For removal procedures, refer to Front Floor Console in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
  4. Remove the lower I/P trim plate and knee bolster. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Plate in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
  5. Place the ignition in the run position.
  6. Remove the park lock cable from the floor shift control assembly.
  7. Remove the park lock cable from the accelerator bracket.
  8. Remove the stop lamp switch.
  9. Remove the knee bolster deflector. Refer to Instrument Panel Driver Knee Bolster and Deflector in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
  10. Remove the steering column nuts and lower the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Removal in Steering Wheel and Column.
  11. Remove the park lock cable from the ignition switch.
  12. Remove the park lock cable.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the park lock cable.
  2. Install the park lock cable to the ignition switch.
  3. Raise the steering column and install the steering column nuts. Refer to Steering Column Removal in Steering Wheel and Column.
  4. Install the knee bolster deflector. Refer to Instrument Panel Driver Knee Bolster and Deflector in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
  5. Install the stop lamp switch.
  6. Install the park lock cable to the accelerator bracket.
  7. Install the park lock cable to the floor shift control assembly.
  8. Install the knee bolster and the lower I/P trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Plate in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
  9. Install the floor console. For installation procedures, refer to Front Floor Console in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
  10. Install the shifter handle and retainer.
  11. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System.
