Important: For Brake Transmission Shift Interlock Solenoid (BTSI) removal and installation procedures with column shift, refer to Steering Column Unit Repair.

1. Remove the shifter handle and the retainer.
2. Remove the floor console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
3. Disconnect the BTSI solenoid electrical connector.
4. Remove the BTSI solenoid (869) and the attaching clips.

1. Install the BTSI solenoid and the attaching clips.
2. Connect the BTSI solenoid electrical connector.
3. Install the floor console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
4. Install the shifter handle and the retainer.
