Removal Procedure

  1. Place a drain pan under the oil cooler.
  2. Use a backup wrench in order to remove the oil cooler pipe fittings from the oil cooler.

  3. Object Number: 97091  Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolts from the oil cooler.
  5. Remove the oil cooler.
  6. Remove the nuts, if necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97091  Size: SH
  1. Install the nuts, if removed.
  2. Install the oil cooler.
  3. Install the bolts to the oil cooler.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the oil cooler pipe fittings to the oil cooler.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the oil cooler pipe fittings to 17 N·m (13 lb ft) while using a backup wrench.

  7. Remove the drain pan from under the oil cooler.
  8. Adjust the fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
