Subject: | Sunroof Module Reset Procedure |
Models: | 2007 Chevrolet Caprice, Lumina (Export) |
Sunroof control modules for both new 2007 model year and for previous model years have been returned to supplier and determined to show "No Fault Found". Complaint condition in all cases has been that the sunroof does not open to the pre-set position commanded by the sunroof control.
Tests have confirmed that no fault exists within the module and the complaint condition could possibly have been corrected by resetting and recalibrating the control module.
The procedure differs for 07 model year from the previous model years (2003 through 2006). However, the procedure for 2007 model year has not yet been published in Service Information
When investigating instances of a sunroof not opening or closing to the position as commanded by the sunroof controls, reset and recalibrate as shown on Attachments 1 and 2. Do not replace the module unless failure is confirmed following resetting and recalibration. The reset and calibration procedure for 2007 model year is shown as attachment 1 and attachment 2 covering previous model years amends the instruction as shown in SIP by adding a step to remove the sunroof fuse before carrying out the reset and calibration procedure.
Important: Use default LTG information, pending release of a revised labor operation.
