The purpose of this bulletin is to provide diagnosis tips for DTC P0625 - Generator F Terminal Low Voltage.
The generator is linked to the ECM as shown in the illustration.
In certain 2007 Chevrolet Captiva/Captiva Maxx vehicles with the 3.2L V6 engine (RPO LU1), DTC P0625 may be displayed on the Tech 2® scan tool screen without any symptoms or malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated.
This DTC P0625 may be stored in the ECM due to interface mismatching between ECM learned software and the generator F terminal signal. The generator may be functioning normally if this code sets. If the generator is functioning normally even though DTC P0625 is stored in ECM, the MIL does not illuminate and a history or active DTC P0625 is stored in ECM. The instrument panel cluster controls the diagnostic circuit a second time. If the IP cluster detects the generator voltage is below 12.5V for 30 seconds continuously, DTC P0625 is stored in ECM as an active code and the MIL and the charging system warning lamp illuminate.
DO NOT replace the generator if DTC P0625 is set as a history or active DTC.
Erase DTC P0625 using the Tech 2® scan tool.
These diagnostic tips are applicable until a new generator corresponding to ECM software is developed.
