Logistics Connector To Be Reconnected After Shipping or Storage (Export Only)

Subject:Logistics Connector To Be Reconnected After Shipping or Storage

Models:2008.5 Chevrolet Caprice, Lumina (Export Only)

Important: This bulletin has been reissued following reports that logistics connectors have not been fully connected. It is critical that the two parts of the connector are fully assembled until a "click" is heard. Light pressure should then be applied to confirm that the two connectors cannot be easily separated.

Background

Bulletin H07-OC-07 advised dealerships of use of a Logistics Connector to isolate circuits which may contribute to battery drain while the vehicle is in transit. With introduction of this single connector, the practice of removing fuses from affected circuits has been discontinued. Therefore, dealerships need only to connect the Logistics Connector to achieve full circuit function, avoiding the need to install individual fuses at PDI.

Issues with supply of the wiring harnesses at vehicle manufacturing had resulted in a delay in introduction of the Logistics Connector. This has now been implemented at breakpoint: 6G1ML54H88L126733 (build date November 30, 2007).

Effective with use of the Logistics Connector, the previous practice of removal of fuses during transit is no longer required.

Connection of the Logistics Connector will restore operation of all protected circuits. Details of operation and location of the Logistics Connector as shown in bulletin H07-OC-07 are repeated below for convenience.

Vehicles built prior to this breakpoint will require fuses to be installed as per previous model years. Details of fuse installation are shown in Attachment 1.

Details of Logistics

Disconnection of the Logistics Connector disables the following functions:

    • Radio, HVAC
    • SIC
    • Cluster
    • Remote Lock/Unlock

None of these will function while it is disconnected. However, the vehicle will start and be driveable.

Important: It is critical that the two parts of the connector are fully assembled until a "click" is heard. Light pressure should then be applied to confirm that the two connectors cannot be easily separated.

  5. Reconnect as shown above (1). The two halves will click together when connected.
