Condition

Customers may comment on a knock noise from the front of the vehicle when striking a small raised road imperfection, such as a speed bump or a raise tar joint. The noise is described as being similar to striking a heavy piece of timber and is generally experienced when both wheels strike the object simultaneously.

Cause

The condition may be caused by a cavitation condition within the hydraulic engine mounts.

Correction

Confirm the condition by driving the vehicle. Following TAC approval, replace the engine mounts with the following revised parts. The new engine mounts feature a revised one-way by-pass valve and a revised oil channel design.
