This bulletin supersedes Issue 3 of Service Bulletin H07-08-06. It is updated by including a service correction for affected vehicles. Please discard all previous issues.
When a vehicle equipped with the Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) option undergoes either of the following, there is potential that the RSE module will not correctly reset.
• | flash programming (SPS) of any module on either of the GM LAN networks |
OR |
• | Clearing of RSE diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), including clearing DTCs from the whole vehicle (regardless of whether there were DTCs logged in the RSE or not). |
The RSE system may not respond to a command to return to a "normal" state after SPS programming or DTC clearing and can potentially stay in "programming" mode.
Ensure any vehicles equipped with RSE that are in your dealership have the revised RSE software installed from TIS2WEB or TIS CD#4/2008 or later.
On vehicles with the old software, after SPS programming or DTC clearing, it was a requirement to power down the RSE by removing a fuse. This is not required with the revised software.
