Important: A fused jumper may not protect solid state components from being damaged.
Important: Do not use a fuse with a higher rating than the fuse that protects the circuit being tested.
A jumper wire is an in-line fuse holder connected to a set of test leads. It includes small clamp connectors that provide adaptation to most connectors without damage and is used to bypass a suspected faulty portion of a circuit with a known good conductor. The in-line fuse holder should be fitted with a fuse of the same rating that protects the circuit being tested.
