Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the cargo area centre carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement
  2. Remove the left-hand cargo area carpet side. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement

    3. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1949822 Size: SH

    Important: Clean any existing corrosion from the battery terminal and the battery cable end.

  3. Remove the battery negative cable to battery terminal retaining nut (1) from the battery terminal.
  4. Remove the battery negative cable (1) from the battery terminal.

    5. Object Number: 1949824 Size: SH
  5. Remove the negative battery cable to chassis retaining bolt (1).
  6. Remove the negative battery cable from the vehicle (2).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1949824 Size: SH
  1. Install the negative battery cable to chassis retain bolt (1).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

    Important: Clean any existing corrosion from the battery terminal and the battery cable end.

  2. Install the negative battery cable to the battery terminal.
  3. Install the negative battery cable nut (1) to negative battery terminal.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the battery terminal retaining nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  4. Install the left-hand cargo area carpet side. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement
  5. Install the cargo area centre carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement
