Important: Make sure that the crankshaft is in the timing drive assembly position using the EN 46111 .
Important: DO NOT allow oil on the cylinder head bolt bosses.
Important: DO NOT reuse the old M11 cylinder head bolts.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the M11 cylinder head to cylinder block
retaining bolts a first pass in sequence to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
7.1. | Back off the M11 cylinder head to cylinder block retaining bolts 120 degrees using the J 45059 J 45059. |
7.2. | Tighten the M11 cylinder head to cylinder block retaining bolts a second pass in sequence to 30 N·m (22 lb ft). |
7.3. | Tighten the M11 cylinder head to cylinder block retaining bolts a third pass in sequence an additional 150 degrees using the J 45059 J 45059. |
Tighten
Tighten the M8 cylinder head to cylinder block retaining
bolts (9, 10) a first pass to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
Tighten the M8 cylinder head to cylinder block retaining bolts (9, 10) a second pass in sequence an additional 60 degrees using the J 45059 .
