In some instances, a significant amount of "dead" clutch pedal stroke (excessive free play) has been identified. Additionally, the clutch engagement/disengagement point may be felt close to the floor.
The clutch pedal assembly master cylinder attaching bolts may have insufficient torque. If undertorqued, the master cylinder will not be correctly anchored to the pedal assembly bracket. As a result, its position will vary as the clutch pedal is depressed.
