Circuit/System Description
The communication interface module button assembly on the inside rearview mirror assembly consists of 3 buttons, Information/End Call, Holden Assist and Emergency. The button assembly on the inside rearview mirror assembly also has three status
Light Emitting Diodes (LED), Green, Red and Orange. The function of each is as follows:
• | Flashing Green: Call is in progress. |
• | Steady Green: System is on and self test has been completed. |
• | Steady Red: System is on and self test has detected a malfuntion. |
• | Steady Orange: Vehicle is not in the coverage area. This is emphasised by 5 beeps when the ignition is switched off to inform the driver that the vehicle is about to be left in a "shadow" location that is untraceable by the Telematics
Call Center. |
• | Red and Green Lights Flashing: telematics is in Service mode. Press the Holden Assist button to request this mode be disabled. |
Conditions for Running the DTC
• | Ignition is in the RUN or ACC position. |
• | System voltage is between 9 and 16 volts. |
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The communication interface module detects a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance on the Green LED circuit.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
• | The communication interface module sets a DTC. |
• | The communication interface module commands the red LED ON. |
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
• | The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present. |
• | The history DTC will clear after 50 fault-free ignition cycles. |

Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the mirror assembly keypad and the harness connector at the telematics module.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between terminal 14 on the inside rearview mirror harness connector and terminal 3 on the vehicle comunication interface module X2 harness connector.
⇒ | If greater than specified range, test the circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance. |
- If all circuits test normal, replace the inside rearview mirror.
- If the DTC resets, replace the communication interface module.
