Cleaning Procedure
- Clean the crankshaft balancer in solvent that is compatible with the rubber.
Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.
- Dry the crankshaft balancer with compressed air.
Inspection Procedure
- Inspect the crankshaft balancer for the following:
• | Worn or damaged hub-to-crankshaft surface (1) |
• | Worn, grooved or damaged hub seal surface (2). |
• | Worn, chunking or deteriorated rubber between the hub and pulley (3) |
• | Damaged drive belt ribs (4) |
• | Damaged threaded holes (5) |
- Repair or replace the crankshaft balancer as required.
