Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2009 🢒 Caprice WM 🢒 Body Systems 🢒 Lighting 🢒 Headlamp Bracket Replacement

Installation Procedure (Type A)

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Remove the radiator air baffle and deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement.
  3. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  4. Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement.

    5. Object Number: 1946942 Size: SH
  5. Cut the headlamp assembly retaining brackets along the broken line (1) shown.
  6. Discard the remaining ends of the bracket.

    7. Object Number: 1946945 Size: SH
  7. Install the headlamp bracket (1) to the headlamp assembly (3).

    8. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Install the headlamp bracket to headlamp assembly retaining screws (2).

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  9. Install the headlamp assembly (4) to the front end module (1).

    10. Important: Replace the upper headlamp retaining bolts (2).

  10. Install the NEW headlamp assembly to front end module upper retaining washers (3) and bolts (2).

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N·m (35 lb in).

  11. Install the headlamp assembly to front end module lower retaining bolts (5).

    12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N·m (35 lb in).

  12. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  13. Install the radiator air baffle and deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement.
  14. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  15. Check all vehicle lights for correct operation.
  16. Adjust the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Aiming.

Installation Procedure (Type B)

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Remove the radiator air baffle and deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement.
  3. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  4. Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement.

    5. Object Number: 1946948 Size: SH
  5. Cut the headlamp assembly retaining brackets along the broken line (1) shown.
  6. Discard the remaining ends of the bracket.

    7. Object Number: 1946951 Size: SH
  7. Install the headlamp bracket (1) to the headlamp assembly (3).

    8. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Install the headlamp bracket to headlamp assembly retaining screws (2).

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  9. Install the headlamp assembly (4) to the front end module (1).

    10. Important: Replace the upper headlamp retaining bolts (2).

  10. Install the NEW headlamp assembly to front end module upper retaining washers (3) and bolts (2).

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N·m (35 lb in).

  11. Install the headlamp assembly to front end module lower retaining bolts (5).

    12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N·m (35 lb in).

  12. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  13. Install the radiator air baffle and deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement.
  14. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  15. Check all vehicle lights for correct operation.
  16. Adjust the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Aiming.
