Removal Procedure

    Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Install a suitable liftgate brace to the vehicle.
  2. Remove the liftgate window side garnish moulding. Refer to Liftgate Window Side Garnish Molding Replacement.
  3. Remove the liftgate window lower garnish moulding. Refer to Liftgate Window Lower Garnish Molding Replacement.

    4. Object Number: 2046858 Size: SH
  4. Remove the liftgate inside pull handle to liftgate retaining screws (1).

    5. Object Number: 2046859 Size: SH
  5. Using a suitable tool, carefully disengage the liftgate trim panel to liftgate retaining clips (1).
  6. Remove the liftgate trim panel (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2046859 Size: SH
  1. Position the liftgate trim panel (2) to the vehicle.
  2. Carefully engage the liftgate trim panel retaining clips (1) to the liftgate.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the liftgate inside pull handle to liftgate retaining screws (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2  N·m (18 lb. in).

  4. Install the liftgate window lower garnish moulding. Refer to Liftgate Window Lower Garnish Molding Replacement.
  5. Install the liftgate window side garnish moulding. Refer to Liftgate Window Side Garnish Molding Replacement.

    6. Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  6. Remove the suitable liftgate brace from the vehicle.
